patience & strength

The idea started at the hospital waiting room. We wait with patients in the hospital waiting room and lead community events at senior centers, so no one has to watch the clock alone. It's a challenging space for individuals from all walks of life. We host speakers and workshops to explore medical narratives and the phenomenon of waiting. In quarantine, we launched a journal titled Patience and Pandemic.

This is the opportunity to inspire meaningful change through conversation and reflection.

Conversational Care

Online programming and activities to implement the core of our mission. Provides a focus on mindfulness and intention-setting.

"Patience is not passive; on the contrary, it is concentrated strength" - Bruce Lee

From the uncertain time frame to an uncertain illness, the majority of waiting rooms are structured in a way that requires patients to manage exceptional stress in a daunting space.

The Patient Project intends to bridge the gap in connectivity by redesigning a significant element of health care: the wait.

Psychological studies demonstrate the benefits of human interaction, particularly for those who are in distress; thus, it is no surprise that “hospital waiting rooms should be experienced as relational spaces,” where patients are able to receive support (Corsano 2015).
