Conversational Care

What is Conversational Care?

We had this idea that Conversation could be Care. We partner with city senior centers to host virtual weekly sessions on topics of gratitude, mindfulness, and more. At our events, participants can expect a scheduled time to find community, chat with friends of all ages, and learn some new tips toward patience and wellness.

Senior Perspective

"Thank you for a very uplifting hour. It is still with me, and I've started my day out with what we learned. With more to come."

"When other seniors share, it's golden."

"So, you shined a little light for new ideas...and for me a new calmness...that can be returned to and nurtured. I find myself driving or walking and remembering that this is part of my beautiful day."

Volunteer Perspectives

"Our discussions about emergence gave way to some wonderful insights that have helped me as I adjusted to college, and our conversations also eased some of the isolation felt during the pandemic."

"The group has a sense of community which results in emotional and thought-provoking conversations. In return, we've learned so much from the seniors and their experiences. When I first starting volunteering, I wasn't sure if the seniors would share their thoughts and feelings since we didn't know them personally. Turns out, they brought so much more to the table with their conversations. They facilitated and catalyzed their own growth. With each session, there was ease and comfort in knowing that this was really just a group of friends to be mindful and intentional with. I feel like I'm a part of a community that truly cares."
